Who are we?

El Bestiari It is a signature and artisan cocktail bar, the little sister of the multi-award-winning cocktail bar Mariposa Negra Bar just a few metres away from each other in Barcelona's Born district.

We are not just another cocktail bar, but a creative universe where every detail has been meticulously crafted. From the production of our own ingredients for our cocktails (liqueurs, macerations, etc.) to the creation of the containers in which they are served.

Everything is produced in an artisanal way in our workshops mixing different techniques to give rise to what today is El Bestiari. we have the innovation workshop or laboratory, the ceramic workshop and the most recent, the copper workshop.

The inspiration

It was created inspired by the Barcelona bestiary and in the beasts that take to the streets, alongside the correfocs, in the popular festivals of each of its emblematic neighborhoods, such as the Drac de Ciutat Vella, the Porca de Sant Antoni, Tolc del Clot, the Mulassa or El Estarrufadet de Poblenou, to mention just a few.

El Bestiari was born in the Middle Ages and is a compilation that classifies the fabulous and mythological beasts of that time.

The Beasts

These represent the vices and evil in humanity, while others are guardians and protectors, like the beasts that decorate our cocktails, some more sinister and others more friendly.

We create a fusion of local history, with art and flavor, where Catalan culture comes to life in every cocktail, thus paying a small tribute to popular tradition.

The Space and Workshop

The Space:

As with Mariposa Negra Bar, the interior design is our own work, handcrafted in our workshops, and sustainably manufactured.

A place with its own soul, where we can house our beasts.

The Workshop:

We have an artisan copper workshop within the cocktail bar. Here we create our own copper cocktail glasses, all produced sustainably and locally, just as the artisans of the Born neighborhood used to do during the Middle Ages and still do today.

We also have a ceramics workshop, a laboratory for more technological innovation, and a room for our special cocktail creations and edible decorations.
